ADRIAN, Mich. — The Adrian High School Athletic Department announced the hiring of Kyle Johnson as its next Varsity Boys Baseball Coach. The Lenawee County native played baseball at Adrian High school where he was an All-SEC, All-County and All-District player. Kyle also won the batting title his junior year.
After high school, Kyle went on to play baseball at Siena Heights. Kyle has a bachelor’s degree in special education and teaches at Adrian High School. His previous coaching experiences includes serving as an assistant on Adrian High School’s varsity staff.
Coach Johnson had this to say about his new position: “I want to thank all the people that have made this possible for me. I have been a Maple for all my life and this position is not something I will take for granted. The Maple logo and tradition is something I feel a tremendous amount of pride representing and our baseball team will show it by the way we play and carry ourselves. Go Maples”
The APS Board of Education is expected to approve the selection committee’s recommendation on the new Boy’s Baseball Coach in the near future.
