Two Adrian High School wrestlers advanced to Ford Field for the MHSAA Division 2 State Championships. Adrian hosted both Milan and Tecumseh in the team district wrestling tournament on Thursday night. In the opening round, Adrian beat Milan 60-24. Having pins in that match was Dorian Gardiner at 140 lbs and Anjel Vasquez at 103 lbs. In the championship match, the two teams were neck and neck until the final matches.
The Maples traveled to Lincoln on Wednesday for an SEC quad. Adrian split their two matches on the night with a 63-18 win against Lincoln and a 57-17 loss to Saline. Adrian is back in action next Wednesday at Tecumseh High School.
Adrian traveled to Ypsilanti on Wednesday for an SEC tri with Ypsilanti and Chelsea. Adrian beat Ypsilanti 46-30, but lost to Chelsea 54-27.
